Ditch the myths and tighten successfully

We’ve all heard about home remedies for vaginal tightening… but what are the myths and what are the facts?

A tighter vagina is often a trait that is desired by older women who have had children and have undergone some stretching. Some women who have gone through menopause also believe that vaginal atrophy and vaginal ageing is caused by lack of pelvic strength which is why they use exercises and home remedies in order to try and achieve a tighter vagina.

Kegel Exercises

kegel

There is a lot of controversy surrounding kegel exercises as different doctors and vaginal therapists recommend these exercises for different reasons. When it comes to vaginal prolapse kegel exercises are relatively ineffective as the strength of the vagina muscles is only part of the issue, since lifestyle choices and coincidence play a large role. When it comes to tightening for the sake of tightening kegels can achieve this but like exercising muscles on any other part of the body once you stop “working out” your strength will diminish quickly and your tightness will recede. Instead of kegel exercises it’s more beneficial to choose a longer lasting solution to vaginal looseness such as the laser vaginal tightening available at Hunter Cosmedic in Kotara.

Vaginal Weights

It may sound strange but yes some people actually use weights to strengthen their vagina. This special type of weight involves inserting a ball into the vagina that will have a weight attached to it that will sit on the outside of your body. You will then squeeze your pelvic floor muscles in order to lift the weight. This is a little extreme for most people which is why it is a less common home remedy, and like kegel exercises you do need to keep doing this exercise for as long as you want a tighter vagina.

Topical Gels

There hasn’t been very much research when it comes to topical gels and ointments to increase vaginal tightness. According to a lot of beauty gurus they claim that topical products containing natural ingredients such as witch hazel can tighten the vagina. However it’s important to know that these topical gels and ointments often only provide temporary benefits while you’re actually using the product, and in some cases it can take two months of use for you to achieve any results at all – which will disappear when you cease using it.

So what is the verdict?

Basically, there is no ‘home remedy’ that is also a permanent solution to vaginal looseness. The only long lasting solutions that are available are surgery and also the laser vaginal tightening available at our Kotara clinic. Many women choose laser vaginal tightening as it does not require any incisions and it very rarely requires a second appointment.

Laser Vaginal Tightening in Kotara, Newcastle

If you are interested in our laser vaginal tightening procedure it’s important you find out more about the procedure. In order to perform this laser treatment we will use our SP Dynamis laser and a special applicator that will be inserted into the vagina. The laser beams will then penetrate the skin and stimulate the growth factors in the vaginal walls that tighten the mucosa and the overall vaginal walls.

An ideal candidate for this procedure includes women who are unhappy with the elasticity of their vaginas after child birth, women who simply want a tighter vagina for improved sexual satisfaction and women who suffer from LBL which can be caused by lack of strength and tightness in the pelvic floor muscles.
